Week of February 9th

Hi Guys,

Here's the scoop for the week:

Monday

7th: Begin work on Independent Project.

8th:  NOTE FOR LAB REPORT!  When answering questions on your lab report, compare your chicken wing to a human ARM.  Although we did not go through the entire lab exactly the way it was written, you CAN answer all questions that correspond with steps 1-7.  For questions 8-9, try to answer the questions as best you can.  You should definitely be able to answer the second part of question #9 (which begins, "Manually operate...").  Although we did not go over the individual muscles in detail during the class, you can recall the ideas of contraction and relaxation of paired muscles (think bicep vs. tricep or hamstrings vs. quadriceps). This knowledge should allow you to easily answer #8.

In the CONCLUSION, you should be able to answer all of the questions based upon what you have learned from class.  For conclusion question #7, use your critical reasoning skills to try to explain why fat and protective cartilage would be useful at the end of bones (especially where they connect to other bones in a joint).  For the last 2-4 paragraphs, again compare the chicken wing to a human ARM.  Good luck and see you tomorrow!

Tuesday

7th:  Continue work on Independent Project.

8th:  Review for TEST on Wednesday.  LAB REPORT DUE.

8th:  CHAPTER TEST on MUSCLES.
