Week of February 18

Hi Guys,

Ok...quick week.  We've got a lot to cover in just a few days!

Wednesday

8th:  Today we will dive deeper into the cardiovascular system.  We will go over the chambers of the heart and will watch a video on healthy hearts.  Homework:  Read pp. 64-65.

Thursday

7th:  Today we made a timeline for your independent project testing.  Remember, the timeline that I gave you said to have testing completed by March 6, but we are really shooting for February 27.  It will only be easier for you and  your group if we can start to really put together your power point presentation before you leave for spring break!  Also, we started a lab on the boiling point (a characteristic property) of water.  Due to some complications, we were unable to finish.  I expect that tomorrow's class will be focused and that you will all arrive ready to learn from this experiment!

8th:  Today we went over the three circulatory systems (coronary, pulmonary, systemic), the vessels of the body and blood pressure.  You learned that a healthy blood pressure is 120/80 and you can explain what the numbers actually mean!  Homework:  Due tomorrow (Friday) - an article on the cardiovascular system.  Due Tuesday - read pp. 67-72.

Friday

7th:  Completion of the boiling point lab and graphing of the results.

8th:  Cardiovascular Articles and some notes on diseases/disorders of the cardiovascular system.
